The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data only based on legal regulations (GDPR, Telecommunications Act (TKG 2003)). For the content and the data processing on this website AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals AG is the controller in the sense of GDPR. In this data protection information, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing conducted on our website.

Contact us

If you contact us by the form on our website or by E-mail, we store the data you provided in order to process your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not transfer this data without your approval unless it is necessary to fulfill our (contractual) obligations towards you or required by law or authorities (e.g. in case of adverse reaction notifications).

Web-analysis

For the improvement of our online offer we also use the open source web analytics tool Matomo (www.matomo.org). Matomo uses cookies (see above) in order to analyze the use of applications. When you visit our site, we will store: the website from which you visited us from, the parts of our site you visit, the date and duration of your visit, your anonymised IP address, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit. We process your usage data in Matomo Analytics for statistical purposes, to improve our site and to recognize and stop any misuse of content in particular content dedicated to health care professionals based on our predominant legitimate interest to create an easy-to-use website access statistics in a cost-efficient way (art. 6 para 1 lit f GDPR).

We process your data.

Matomo uses for this purpose cookies (small data files transferred onto computers or devices by sites) for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on our site. 

Pseudonomized, aggregated statistical data are stored separately from your personal data and do not allow tracking to a specific person, except for content on our website which require registration and access via login data.  In such case Matomo tracking relates to the logged-in user.

This is the case only for content that is under applicable pharmaceutical laws restricted to health care professionals (HCP):

When you sign up for and open an account on our HCP specific website content, we ask you to provide us with information such as your name, email address and details about your organization, to verify that you are a HCP. As otherwise detailed in this declaration, we will solely process this information to provide you with the service you signed up for. By providing your registration information, you are agreeing to us providing that service and promoting products or services and accessing website content dedicated to HCP we consider may interest you, from time to time.

The details you provide when registering must be your own details and they must be correct. Impersonating someone else respectively a HCP if you are not is a very serious breach of the terms and conditions of acceptable use which apply to your use of this site.

You may as described above deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

You can opt out from data storage via Matomo by activating in your browser that you do not wish to be included in any such statistics ("Do-not-track").

You can also opt out of being tracked by our Matomo Analytics instance on our website by clicking on the following link below. An opt-out cookie will be set which prevents the collection of your data on future visits to this website. Anonymous surveys on the website of AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals AG 

In order to improve the website of AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals AG for the visitors, the AOP occasionally carries out anonymous surveys. Here is waived on free text input. The survey software of Easy Feedback GmbH is used. This allows a technical anonymity, as long as it is not possible in the survey itself to provide personal information. We therefore completely refrain from using free-text fields and arrange the questions in such a way that an assignment to a person is statistically impossible. All surveys are conducted anonymously.

Duration of storage of your data

We only store your data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this data protection declaration or as otherwise necessary to fulfill our contractual or legal obligations. Thus, we store the data for as long as this is required by law (e.g. statutory retention obligations, such as in case of pharmacovigilance notifications) or as permitted by law (e.g. until the expiry of limitation periods for any legal claims or as long as our legitimate interest is given).

Your rights

In principle, you possess the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data transferability, revocation and contradiction. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have otherwise been violated, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority (Datenschutzbehörde).

If your data are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of data concerning you for reasons arising from your particular situation.

If the processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your data with effect for the future at any time.
